Harnessing gold-standard predictive power for solid-state batteries: Optimization of the conductivity and polymerization catalysts for polymer electrolytes

Short Description of the Research Project:

Solid-state batteries promise safer, sustainable energy storage, but are hindered by poor polymer electrolyte ion transport. We will use advanced computational methodology to design polymers with improved Li-ion conductivity. We will also optimize late transition metal catalysts to enable efficient and cost-effective polymer synthesis, thereby improving the structural and ion-transport properties of polymer electrolytes. This approach aims to advance next-generation battery materials and promote cleaner, sustainable energy technologies.
