Budapest University of Technology and Economics (BME) – founded in 1782 – is the leading engineering school of Hungary, with a well-established international reputation. In addition to traditional engineering schools, such as the Faculty of Civil Engineering, the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, the Faculty of Architecture, the Faculty of Chemical Technology and Biotechnology, the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Informatics, and the Faculty of Transportation Engineering and Vehicle Engineering, it also possesses a highly-ranked Faculty of Natural Sciences and a Faculty of Economic and Social Sciences.
With a broad research focus, a vast industrial network, having the most substantial EU funding among all Hungarian universities, BME is ranked 243d worldwide in Engineering and Technology. Being affiliated with over 50 members of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences, BME is a leading university of international excellence in Hungary.
